Rachel Hawkins

Characters:
Sophie Mercer, Jenna Talbot, Archer Cross, Elodie, Mrs. Casnoff.

I picked this up by chance. Really out of "oh it is in at my library, I guess I will read it" I am so glad I did. This book will have you laughing and wondering what is going to happen. You have Sophie who first day at Hex Hall is attacked by a werewolf...and what does she do, YELLS BAD DOG! This is funny not only because many of us would do the same and then probably hit yourself for the "really, bad dog?" comment. That is when you meet dreamy Archer Cross, the boy that saves her from the wolf. As the book continues and you learn about the other characters you might be like me and love Jenna, a vampire, who is Sophie's roommate. And develop a crush like most of the girls with Archer. Don't want to give to much away but if you read this book, you will love it! And hate it! lol. Hate for who Archer turns out to be! I gave this book 4 out of 5 stars

Usually I give a list of characters, but I am sorry to say that I feel all you need to follow in this series are the Top 3 characters which are: Sophie, Jenna, and Archer. If you have not read the first book in this series please DO NOT READ THIS REVIEW!

In the follow up to Hex Hall you go into it wanting to know what is going to happen. What is going on with the whole Archer thing and what will Sophie do? You get to meet her dad and find out exactly what they are and later in the book yes why they were created through her great grandmother. You find that Archer wasn't really recruited by The Eye but they actually killed his family when he was little and kept him to raise him to be on their side and help. The Eye is on a hunt for Sophie in this book and they find her but Archer helps her get away. This book by far is very well written and when you think a character is one way they completely turn out to be something different. Keeps you on the edge of your seat and at the very end of the book.........leaves you hanging!!!  I gave this 5 out of 5 stars because this book was by far one of my favorite reads so far and it throws you into wanting to pick up the next one to read it right away!!
